1. Sorolla Exhibit // The San Diego Museum of Art

Stopped by the San Diego Museum of Art the other day to check out the ‘Sorolla and America’ exhibit.  A collection of paintings by Spanish painter Joaquín Sorolla.  Included were some of his huge pieces and a group of his oil sketches. I snapped a couple of shots before realizing photographs were prohibited. Did some ballpoint sketches of his figures on the beach.  About the only time you’ll find drawings of wet naked boys in my sketchbook.

Last weekend’s sensory overload experience at the San Diego Comic-Con. Watching paint dry with the talented Maxx242.

  3. Caught the latest Planet of the Apes movie last weekend. It had me filling my sketchbook with ape drawings. I’ve always had an interest in monkeys and apes and drew them often. Here’s a few sketches and an oil painting of primates I dug up from years back.

  4. Mr. Padre (at Petco Park)

  5. #Idyllwild CA // Riverside County (at Idyllwild Park)

  6. La Paz, Baja California Sur // MEXICO

Took a trip down south over the hot weekend for a dip in the Sea of Cortez.  Ate some great food, laid out on the peaceful beaches, snorkeled with the sea lions, and the highlight of my trip, swam alongside a whale shark!  Hasta luego La Paz.

  7. Buenos dias // La Paz, Mexico (at Paraiso Del Mar)
